Hi all. I've just been booked for a massive outdoor charity gig for "Help for heroes" on September 5th (Sunday) which is on Littlehampton sea front. The event I understand is called "Beach Green motor mania" and it's expected to draw thousands on the day. They'll be competitions, prizes, a sizable vintage car exhibition (I think in the 50's American style - I have to play lots of rock n' roll) and I believe at least one local radio station will be there too. That's all the details I've got for the moment but it promises to be a big day out. So stick it in your diary. September 5th Littlehampton beach. 10:00 to 5:00pm.
Have a great week..
Classic Harry Enfield here Not my opinion by the way!

Well what a week for politics eh? Who could have expected that result? Perhaps this is what we need right now. Libs green and base tax allowance policies and Tories getting the economy back to some degree of respectability, Not to mention releasing BT's hold on slow copper cable village broadband and putting it out to tender for others to install fibre-optics. That'll get MY vote.
I was getting my smoke machine fixed in Brighton this week at my favourite repair shop and My man John was telling me that around 25% of mobile dj's have gone out of business. I look at my competition on Google and it doesn't seem that way to me. My business must be one of the few that's expanding. He say's about six clubs in Brighton have gone too. It was a surprise.
Well I've had some good gigs lately around Barnham. I've got Saturday off this week so I'm doing a voluntary unpaid gig.
I've done all weddings with one large one at the Chamendian Centre in Worthing where I got to try out my 3.2 KW bass bin combination in an actual room and not a sound dead marquee. It still took all the power of the four bins to fill the place but what a sound! Nice. Unfortunately I can't get a review as the customers aren't on the interweb.
Well that's all for this week. I'll leave you with some Eddie Izzard
Have a great weekend.
Mike.

Hi all. I write to you this week on the cusp of the pinnacle of my entertainment career. Tomorrow I do a wedding gig in Worthing that promises to be a little bit different. For a start it's from about 2:20pm to 01:00 in the morning! Damn...That's long! They are also having several party games, the content of which I'm not at liberty to divulge right now as it's a suprise for the guests and family. Suffice to say, I will be debuting as a modern day Leslie Crowther/Bob Monkhouse Charactor and directing the whole thing so I'd better look sharp and smart for the thing. I've been over the details today and it looks like it will be a pretty good laugh. It's at times like this when you're glad to have a sense of humour and a damn fine Shure radio mic.
Anyhow, I recently bought another 1000watts of powered bass bins...sorry speakers and added them to the set up on Monday night...
The straps are for health and safety or to put it another way, to keep them from falling on little Jeremy's head. Sod's law says I couldn't get black ones. I would dye them but they're nylon so it ain't goin' to work. Maybe I'll just put the bins on the floor and the full range tops on poles like before...
Well whatever! We're getting away from the point here...They were set up in a marquee at the Bailiffs Court Hotel and spa in Climping near me in Barnham and anyone who's ever gigged in a marquee knows that it's like an acoustic testing chamber..ie: dead. No reflection. Even worse than playing outside so you really need as much power as you can get. I still felt like I could have used more (DJ's are probably all guilty of this) but the customers said it sounded "awsome". Read the review here So I was going to sell the old ones but even though Becky and I live in a virtual music shop of a maisonette now, I don't think I can bear to let them go. They're just too handy for gigs like this. Not to mention I can't wait to try it all out in an actual building tomorrow as that will be the first time and it promises to be pretty amazing.
Well today is election day and I'm going to try and stay up to watch the results coming in at around midnight. Some blokes like football and I don't mind the world cup in moderation, but really my football is politics, so this is the highlight of my 5 years!
Hmm...
let's see if I can find any election related comedy....

Have a great weekend and see you next time.
